Texas Doctor praises Costa Rica’s healthcare

Dr John Michael McArthur a Texan doctor, relocated to Costa Rica, explained to CNBC this month.

As well as a good public health system, the private health system includes hospitals such as CIMA hospital, offering 30-70% off US and Canadian prices.

CIMA hospital is JCI accredited, a gold standard which many US hospitals fail to attain, as well as being the only hospital in Central America accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Medical tourism is growing rapidly with an estimated 40,000 visitors per year for healthcare needs

Dr McArthur’s friend who needed dental implants last winter traveled from icy Texas to sunny Costa Rica, after finding he could save $15,000 dollars even after paying the airfare and lodgings.
