With the high tourist season looming just before the holidays, Costa Rica is getting ready to welcome hundreds of thousands of North American and European visitors. According to Canadian tour operator Signature Vacations, member of the Sunwing Travel Group, the high demand from tourists who want to vacation in Costa Rica calls for added capacity.
A recent press release by Signature Vacationsindicates that a second flight is being added from Toronto to the Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) in Liberia, province of Guanacaste. Signature Vacations is highlighting its two premier properties in Guanacaste: The Riu Palace Costa Rica and the Riu Guanacaste, both located on the pristine beach community of Playa Matapalo.
The Riu resorts are very popular among Canadian visitors returning to Costa Rica. Rather than landing at the San Juantamaria International Airport (SJO) and dealing with the chaotic, yet lovable, capital city of San Jose, experienced travelers can land directly in paradise at LIR. Flight carrier Sunwing Airlines offers Champagne Service on flights to Costa Rica booked through a package from Signature Vacations. According to the press release, the service features:
“[…] hot towel service, a choice of hot meals at lunch and dinner served with a choice of wine, and complimentary in-flight entertainment, including first run movies and a generous free 20kg baggage allowance. For just $40 more per flight segment, travellers can upgrade to Sunwing’s Elite Plus service, which features advance seat selection, separate check-in at a majority of airports, advance boarding, 30 kg baggage allowance, priority baggage handling and extra legroom seats.”
Some of the favorite vacation spots in Costa Rica attracting a high number of visitors from Canada include Playas del Coco, Playa Matapalo and Playa Hermosa. Guanacaste is a province poised for high development and growth thanks to increased tourism as well as real estate and business growth.
