Biological Dentistry in Costa Rica

An educational article provided by Dental Cosmetics – Costa Rica Biohealth

Dental Cosmetics was founded 15 years ago in Costa Rica, and we worked most of our career practicing traditional dentistry, as that was our professional dental training at the moment, when not much information about Biological dentistry was available.

Biological dentistry is a practice that treats the mouth as a part of the body and not as an individual organ.

With traditional dentistry there is no region of our body is as heavily saturated with heavy metals, alloys, toxic materials, dead organs (teeth that have undergone root canal treatment) and inflammation, as the mouth and jaw areas.

In the past years, we have been lucky enough to surround ourselves with an open minded, free spirited group of dentists and have opened our eyes to a world of new possibilities within the dental profession.

Our mentor, Dr. Ulrich Volz , is a pioneer in Biological Dentistry with over 25 years of experience. He developed the first market-ready Zirconia Dental implant, and is now the head of SDS, Swiss Dental Solutions which is currently the most technologically-advanced Zirconia implant available. He is also, along with Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt -a pioneer in Biological Medicine and Neural Therapy- the creators of the All in One Swiss Biohealth concept.

Pioneers & exclusive providers of BioHealth Concept in Costa Rica

Dental Cosmetics have trained for and follow the All in One Swiss Biohealth concept with our patients in Costa Rica. We are the exclusive providers of the Biohealth Concept in Costa Rica and we train dentists from other countries throughout the Americas in the Biohealth Concept.

We as dentists, have a great potential to be healers. It is incredible the amount of positive (or negative) impact that we can offer to our patients.

Up to 70% of chronic illnesses are connected to interference fields in the oral cavity. Placing comprehensive, metal free dental restorations is the heart of the Swiss Biohealth concept.  Its biological treatment concepts and protocols point to an entirely new path for the future of biological medicine itself.

Root Canal Treatments

Many auto immune diseases and its related symptoms have a big correlation with what patients have in their mouths, for example, root canal treatments, have been proven to be present in the vast majority of women suffering from Breast Cancer.

With Swiss Biohealth, the treatment for root canaled teeth involves the removal of the chronically infected root canal, clean the debris around the bone and sterilize it with a gas Ozone therapy. At the same time, a metal-free, biocompatible Zirconia implant is placed, and a blood drawn PRF membrane is placed around the implant.

PRF membranes are plasma components extracted from the patient’s blood, which are then centrifuged according to Dr. Choukron’s protocol, to form a membrane rich in growth factors and fibrin, supporting the immune response in order to achieve a faster healing and promote new bone growth.

NICOs and Cavitations

NICO’s (Neuralgia-Inducing Cavitational Osteonecrosis) also known as Cavitations, are infected chronic sites within our jaws, where teeth have been extracted, specially in areas of extracted wisdom teeth, where bone does not form but a fatty substance instead which is full of toxins, virus, bacteria, fungi and necrotic tissue, as well as Lead, Aluminum and Mercury. These bacteria and toxins in NICO’s are also found in serious auto immune diseases such as LYME disease. Other symptoms associated with NICO’s are chronic fatigue/lack of energy, cardiovascular complaints, weight gain, allergies and skin diseases.

Safe Amalgam Removals

Metals play a huge role in causing interference fields in the mouth and blocking the meridian system, negatively affecting vital organs. None of the metals used in dental restorations has a function in the human body.

Almost every metal is seen as a foreign substance by our body’s immune system, making it liable to trigger an allergy, and can play a significant role In the development of autoimmune disorders such as MS, Hashimoto’s, thyroiditis, etc.

Toxicity is the main concern with the highly poisonous dental amalgam. It contains heavy metals such as Mercury, Copper, Tin and Silver.

Scientific studies have clearly demonstrated that these and other metals such as gold and chrome, have cytotoxic, immunological and carcinogenic effects, along with an influence on a person’s metabolism.

Mercury, is the most toxic non-radioactive element, surpassing lead and arsenic.

From chewing, grinding or brushing one’s teeth, and by drinking hot or cold beverages, a certain amount of mercury vapor is released each day. This causes a low dose chronic poisoning in an amalgam lifetime of 20 years.

Mercury is stored in the kidneys, liver, brain, large intestine, fat tissue and the Thyroid gland. Studies have shown that the half life of Mercury in the brain is 16-30 years. This is why important measures need to be taken to prevent mercury exposure during Amalgam removals or crown preparations.
