Luksenburg System
Urinary Incontinence (UI) is an important clinical problem which affects millions of women worldwide.
The Luksenburg system replaces mesh surgery to treat stress urinary incontinence.
The Luksenburg system results in strengthening of the paraurethral, suburethral and lateral urethrovaginal spaces and the mucosa of the anterior vaginal wall.
Ariel Lukensburg MD, a gynecologist from Uruguay introduced his system for the treatment of severe stress incontinence to the USA in 2021.
In 2023 FDA clearance was granted to use his threads and patented delivery system, then the PCL threads (a type of absorbable synthetic) became CE and FDA compliant.
The PCL threads recreate a new floor under the uretha – a sub urethal spider web.
An innovative, patented and patient safe procedure which is:
- Painless
- Without anesthesia
- Fast, it only takes 20 minutes
- Totally outpatient
- Performed in the Doctor’s clinic
Its results are immediate, and it can be performed on patients with any degree of urinary incontinence, including those who were operated on and their results were not as expected.
It works very well for any type of stress urinary incontinence, so far, it is the only NON-SURGICAL way to treat Grade 3 urinary incontinence
Dr Ronald Salazar is the first OBGYN specialist in Costa Rica to perform the Luksenburg system procedure
